HORSE TRAILS
Check out the pictures from our Post Turkey Trot Carriage Rides!!!
The second annual MLMDC Post Turkey Trot held at the Maryland Agricultural Center on
November 25 was a great success! We had a Morgan, a pair of Hafflingers, two minis, a Cleveland Bay,
a draft, a Welch and a beautiful Gypsy Vanner up from Virginia for the event! A happy coach dog and not a single turkey!!
The Driving Trail, designed for the Ag Center by club members Trina Gay and Margie Richmond,
covers three miles of varied terrain. With a lower loop thru pastures and fields suitable for beginners,
and an upper loop (experienced drivers only) that covers some hilly terrain and presents beautiful
views over miles of Maryland countryside, drivers and horses alike worked up a good sweat and a good
appetite! The Drive was followed by a loaded table of “potlucks”, hot drinks, and a hot barbeque
provided by longtime members Sue and Don Fair! Water for horses courtesy of the Ag Center. The
Drive went off at 11 am in bright sunshine—with the convivial lunch ending when the first clouds
began to gather at 3PM! Smiles all around were the order of the day!
