Farm Sprouts will return next month!
We will be back in April 2020
Children ages birth to 5 years old are invited to the farm to join in one-hour workshops designed just for them (NOTE: Tickets are required for any child 9 mos and older).
Workshops are held bi-monthly (read the schedule very carefully) on Fridays at the Baltimore County Ag-Center in Cockeysville. To better meet the needs of our youngest farmers, this year, there will be two sessions of Sprouts on each program day:
Session A: 9:45am-10:45am
Session B: 11:30am-12:30pm
You are welcome to bring a lunch, and stay longer to enjoy and explore the Farm Park.
Each class features:
• a different farm or nature topic each week (see below)
• experiential investigation and learning
• movement, stories, & arts and crafts
Parents are free of charge. Due to popularity – NO WALK-INS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
If timeslot is not shown, the session is sold out.
This year we are excited to announce Farmer Amy will be our new Farm Sprouts instructor! Amy Vaughan-Roland joins FarmSprouts this season as the farm-based educator. Farmer Amy and her family operate a dairy farm in northern Harford County where she lives and homesteads with her husband two daughters ages 6 and 4. For fourteen years Amy worked in public education as a Special Education teacher but was called back to her farming roots to provide hands-on STEA^2M based education using Science Technology Agriculture Art and Mathematics. Farmer Amy looks forward to meeting her sprouts this spring when we kick off the season here on the farm. Farmer Pam will be very busy on her farm this year, she will miss you all dearly, but she promises to stop by Sprouts as much as she can!
This year Farmer Amy has created new and fun Sprouts themes! Check them out:
4/10: Bunnies/Carrots & Lettuce
7/10: Bees & Butterflies
11/06: Fall on the Farm
We are so excited
